Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) is going to admit students for the 2025-2026 academic year. They will enroll students in the first year for B.Sc. Engineering, BURP, and B.Arch programs. To get admitted, students need to participate in a competitive admission test. Unlike previous years involving a two-step process, the admission test will be conducted using the MCQ method. Departments will be assigned based on the student’s merit position and their preference. The RUET Admission 2025-26 application process will be done online.

Application Eligibility
To apply for the RUET admission test, candidates must meet specific academic requirements.
- Citizenship: You must be a citizen of Bangladesh.
- SSC Requirement: You must have passed your SSC or equivalent exam in 2022 or 2023 from any secondary and higher secondary education board/madrasa board/technical education board in Bangladesh. You need to have a GPA of at least 4.00 out of 5.00 or equivalent grade.
- HSC Requirement: You must have passed your HSC or equivalent exam in 2025. In your HSC exam, you need to have a total Grade Point of at least 14.00 combined in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- GCE Requirements:
- ‘O’ Level: You must pass at least five subjects (including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English) with a minimum ‘B’ grade in each.
- ‘A’ Level: You must pass Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry separately with a minimum ‘B’ grade in each subject. You must have received your ‘A’ Level certificate in November 2024 or later.
- Foreign Institutions: Candidates who passed their HSC equivalent in 2025 from a foreign institution (with at least 12 years of schooling) must have obtained at least 80% marks or equivalent grades separately in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English. They must also have secured an average of 70% marks in their secondary or equivalent exams.
How to Apply
Follow these steps to apply for RUET Admission Test 2025-2026:
- First, go to the website: https://admission.ruet.ac.bd.
- Click on the “Apply Now” button and read the instructions carefully.
- Fill in your Board name, SSC Roll, HSC Roll, and Passing Year.
- Select your “Group” (‘Ka’ or ‘Kha’).
- If you are a Quota candidate, select your Quota (Reserved seats include 1 for Bandarban and 4 for other hill districts/tribal groups).
- Upload your recent color photo and signature as instructed.
- Submit the application. If successful, you will receive an “Application ID” and “Password”.
- Pay the application fee using the methods instructed on the website.
- ‘Ka’ Group Fee: 1300 BDT (excluding service charge).
- ‘Kha’ Group Fee: 1500 BDT (excluding service charge).
- After payment, download your “Payment slip” and “Application Receipt” from the dashboard.
RUET Eligible List 2026
RUET will select students for the admission test from all valid applications.
- Selection Criteria: The list will be based on the total Grade Points obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in the HSC or equivalent exam.
- Candidate Cap: The top 19,000 (nineteen thousand) applicants will be given the opportunity to participate in the admission test.
- Tie-Breaking: If the 19,000th candidate position is held by multiple students, the list will be finalized based on the individual marks obtained in Higher Math, Physics, and Chemistry respectively.
- Publication: The list of eligible candidates will be published on the RUET website on January 3, 2026.
RUET Admit Card 2026 Download
Only eligible candidates can download the admit card. To get your admit card:
- Go to the website: https://admission.ruet.ac.bd.
- Log in to your Dashboard using your Application ID and Password.
- Download the Admit card starting from January 10, 2026.
- Print the Admit card on A4 size paper (color print recommended).
- You must bring your Admit card to the exam hall.
Marks Distribution
The RUET Admission Test 2025-2026 will be held in the MCQ method. The ‘Kha’ group will have an additional drawing test.
Group ‘Ka’ (Engineering & URP)
- Exam Method: MCQ.
- Total Marks: 400.
- Time: 2 Hours 30 Minutes.
- Subject Breakdown:
- Mathematics: 120 Marks.
- Physics: 120 Marks.
- Chemistry: 120 Marks.
- English: 40 Marks.
Group ‘Kha’ (Engineering, URP & Architecture)
- Compulsory Component: Candidates must sit for the 400-mark MCQ exam (same as Group ‘Ka’).
- Additional Test: Freehand Drawing and Visual Spatial Intelligence.
- Additional Marks: 200 Marks.
- Additional Time: 1 Hour (12:15 PM – 01:15 PM).
- Total Marks for Kha Group: 600.
Important Exam Notes:
- Negative Marking: For every wrong answer, 25% of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.
- Writing Instrument: Candidates must use a Black Ballpoint Pen for filling the OMR sheet.
- Exam Centers: The admission test will be held at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Center allocation will be based on HSC marks in Math, Physics, and Chemistry.
RUET Admission Result 2026
The RUET Admission Result is scheduled to be published on February 6, 2026. The result will be available on the admission website, admission.ruet.ac.bd. Students can check their merit position by downloading the PDF file provided on the website.

Conclusion
For the RUET Admission 2025-2026, the online application will close on December 13, 2025, at 05:00 PM. After this time, no new applications can be submitted. The university will not send any physical letters regarding the Admit Card, Seat Plan, or Results.
