The Rajshahi University admission process in 2025 has begun. As in previous years, applications will be taken in preliminary and final phases. Rajshahi University Admission 2025
Applications are being invited for admission to the first year of the Bachelor’s/Bachelor’s (Honours) degree program in the 2024-2025 academic year. Applicants must apply online to the relevant unit, following the rules published on the Rajshahi University website http://admission.ru.ac.bd. The initial application can be made from 12:00 PM on January 27, 2025, to 11:59 PM on February 5, 2025.
RU Admission Test Date
Applicants must participate in the admission test for the respective unit. The admission tests for B, A, and C units will be held on April 12, 19, and 26, 2025, respectively. Each unit’s admission test will last 1 (one) hour from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The admission tests will be held at Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Begum Rokeya (Rangpur), Jahangirnagar, and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural universities. When submitting the final application, candidates must list the names of the desired test centres in order of preference.
Eligibility for Admission
- Candidates who have passed HSC/equivalent, Diploma-in-Commerce, BFA (Pre), or Vocational HSC under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board in 2023 or 2024 can apply for the admission test. (Subject to approval by the HSC equivalence determination committee)
- Students who have passed BFA (Pre) must upload their BFA mark sheet during the application process.
- Students who have passed the Diploma in Engineering from institutions under the Technical Education Board can apply to the relevant unit. Their GPA will still be determined on a 5.00 scale.
Minimum GPA Requirements
- Humanities: Must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject) with a total GPA of 7.00.
Business: Must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject) with a total GPA of 7.00.
Science: Must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject) with a total GPA of 8.00.
GCSE/A Level Requirements
- Must have passed at least five subjects at the GCSE level and a minimum of 2 subjects at the A level.
- Must obtain at least a B grade in 4 subjects and a C in 3 subjects out of 7 subjects in both levels.
- Candidates who have passed the English version (National Curriculum) exam will receive question papers translated into English. During the final application phase, candidates who wish to take the English exam must select the corresponding option online.
Admission Test Format, Duration, and Method
The admission test for the first year of Bachelor/Bachelor (Honours) programs at Rajshahi University in the 2024-2025 academic year will be based on the curriculum set by the Education Boards for the 2023 and 2024 HSC exams.
Students who have passed the HSC/equivalent exam in 2023 or 2024 from the Humanities, Business, and Science faculties can apply for all three units (A, B, and C). However, the eligibility criteria for the faculty from which they passed the HSC/equivalent exam will apply to all applicants, regardless of the unit they apply for.
The admission test will be conducted using the MCQ (multiple-choice question) method, with 100 marks. It will last 1 (one) hour and consist of 80 questions per unit.
Negative marking will be applicable. 1 (one) mark will be deducted for every four wrong answers. The passing mark for the admission test is 40.
