The Rajshahi University (RU) admission process for the 2025-2026 academic year has been officially announced. Applications for the first-year Bachelor’s/Bachelor’s (Honours) degree program will be accepted online. Applicants must apply via the official website: admission.ru.ac.bd.
Application Timeline
According to the official circular, the online application process will follow this schedule:
- Application Start: November 20, 2025 (from 12:00 PM)
- Application Deadline: December 07, 2025 (until 11:59 PM)
RU Admission Test Date (Official)
The admission tests for the 2025-2026 academic year will be held in January 2026. The duration of each exam is 1 hour. The official schedule is as follows:
- Unit C (Science): January 16, 2026
- Unit A (Arts, Law, Social Science): January 17, 2026
- Unit B (Business Studies, IBA): January 24, 2026
Exam Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Test Centers:
The admission tests will be held across several regional centers. Applicants must select their desired test center region during the application. The available centers are:
- Rajshahi
- Dhaka
- Chittagong
- Khulna
- Rangpur
- Barisal
Eligibility for Admission
Candidates who have passed HSC/equivalent, Diploma-in-Commerce, BFA (Pre), or Vocational HSC under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board in 2024 or 2025 can apply. Students who have passed the Diploma in Engineering from institutions under the Technical Education Board can also apply (GPA calculated on a 5.00 scale).
Minimum GPA Requirements
- Humanities (Unit A): Must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject), with a total GPA of 7.00.
- Business (Unit B): Must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject), with a total GPA of 7.00.
- Science (Unit C): Must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject), with a total GPA of 8.00.
Note: Candidates from Humanities, Business, and Science streams can apply for all three units (A, B, and C) provided they meet the eligibility criteria for their respective HSC passing group.
GCSE/A Level Requirements
- O-Level: Must have passed at least 5 subjects.
- A-Level: Must have passed at least 2 subjects.
- Grades: Out of the total 7 subjects, candidates must have at least a ‘B’ grade in 4 subjects and a ‘C’ grade in 3 subjects.
Admission Test Format and Marks
The admission test will follow the standard curriculum set by the Education Boards for the 2024 and 2025 HSC exams.
- Method: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Total Marks: 100
- Number of Questions: 80
- Duration: 1 Hour (60 Minutes)
- Negative Marking: Applicable. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Pass Mark: 40
Special Note: Candidates wishing to take the exam in English (for A-Level/English Version students) must select the relevant option during the online application.
Application Fees
The total application fees (including a 10% service charge) for each unit are as follows:
- Unit A (Humanities/Law/Social Science): 1,320 BDT
- Unit B (Business Studies/IBA): 1,100 BDT
- Unit C (Science/Engineering/Agriculture): 1,320 BDT

RU Admit Card 2026
Admit cards typically become available for download before the exam dates. Candidates should keep an eye on the official website for the specific download window. The admit card will contain the final seat plan, venue, and time.
Instructions for Exam Day:
- Electronic devices (mobile phones, calculators, headphones, memory watches) are strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
- Female candidates wearing a hijab or face covering may be identified by female invigilators if necessary.
