Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet will hold the admission test for the 2025-2026 academic year. The test is for the first year, first semester Bachelor programs (Honors/Engineering). The exams will be held on January 13 and January 14, 2026. Exams for both units will be held in the afternoon. There are two units for the test: Unit A and Unit B. The Unit A exam will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. The Unit B exam will be on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Students who passed the HSC or equivalent exam in science can apply for both Unit A and B if they meet the requirements. Students from Humanities and Commerce backgrounds can apply only to Unit B if they meet the requirements.
SUST Admission 2026
The application for SUST Admission 2026 will be online only. The application period is from December 8, 2025, to December 20, 2025. Apply through the website: https://admission.sust.edu.bd.
The admission test will be held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, and various educational institutions in Sylhet city. Additionally, the admission test will be held in selected educational institutions in Dhaka. Please note that seats in Dhaka centers are limited; once the seats in Dhaka are filled by applicants, the option to choose Dhaka as a center will no longer be available. However, seats in Sylhet city centers will remain open. If you want to apply for the Architecture (ARC) department under Unit A, your exam will be held only at the SUST, Sylhet campus.
SUST Admission Test Date
The SUST admission test will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, and Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
- Unit A Exam (Science): January 13, 2026 (Tuesday) at 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
- Unit B Exam (Science, Humanities, Commerce): January 14, 2026 (Wednesday) at 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
- Examinees for both units must take their seats in the designated exam hall by 2:30 PM.
Application Eligibility
To apply for the SUST admission test, students must have passed HSC (General and Technical)/Alim/Diploma-in-Commerce/Equivalent exams in 2024 or 2025. They also need to have passed SSC (General and Technical)/Dakhil or equivalent exams in 2022 or 2023.
Unit A Eligibility:
- Students from the science group must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams, with a total GPA of at least 6.5.
- In the HSC/equivalent exam, they must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Mathematics (or a minimum C grade for A Level).
Unit B Eligibility:
- Students from Science, Humanities, and Commerce groups can apply.
- They must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams, with a total GPA of at least 6.0.
GCE Students:
- GCE students must have passed at least 5 subjects in IGCSE (O Level) with at least a B grade in 2 subjects.
- In IAL (A Level), they must have passed at least 3 subjects with a B grade in at least 1 subject.
Diploma in Engineering Students:
- Diploma-in-Engineering students must have passed the SSC or equivalent exam in 2020 or 2021.
Equivalence for Diploma and GCE:
- Diploma in Engineering and GCE students must email their grade sheets/certificates to
[email protected]by December 10, 2025, for equivalence determination. - Eligibility status will be informed by December 15, 2025, after evaluating the documents.
- Eligible students must complete the online application and pay fees by December 20, 2025.
Foreign Students (Bangladeshi Nationals):
- Bangladeshi citizens who studied abroad must send their documents (passport photo, passport/citizenship certificate, 10th/O Level/SSC & 12th/A Level/HSC transcripts) to

- At the time of admission, original copies of all certificates and mark sheets must be submitted.

How to Apply
To apply for the SUST admission test, you need to apply online only. The application can be done only through the site https://admission.sust.edu.bd from December 8, 2025, to December 20, 2025. Steps for Online Application:
- Visit the website: https://admission.sust.edu.bd.
- Sign up using your HSC & SSC passing year, board, roll number, and mobile number (yours or guardian’s).
- You will receive a User ID and Password via SMS to the provided mobile number.
- Sign in using the User ID and Password. Fill in applicant information including a photo (300×400 pixels, max 100 KB), email, exam center preference, question language (Bengali/English), Unit, and Societies Merit Allocation (if applicable).
- Once the application is complete, you will be informed of the fee amount.
- Payment steps will be visible on the site during the application period.
- Within 24 hours of payment, you will receive a Payment Confirmation and Admission Roll Number via SMS.
- You can also view your roll number by signing into the website.
- If you apply for one unit (A or B), you can apply for the other unit using the same User ID and Password.
- If applying for a reserved seat, select the option during the photo upload stage; candidates can select only one reserved seat option.
Important Note: Once the application is completed, the photo and academic information cannot be changed.
SUST Admit Card Download 2026
To download your admit card, you need to sign in to the website: https://admission.sust.edu.bd. You need to print two (2) copies of the admit card for each unit on white A4 size offset paper in color. You must bring two (2) copies of the printed admit card for each unit to the exam hall on the day of the admission test. You can download your admit card from the website starting 72 hours before the scheduled exam date.
Latest Update: SUST Admit Card download is available 72 hours prior to the exam. Applicants must reach the exam center 30 minutes before the exam starts.
SUST Seat Plan 2026
The seat plan for the admission test will be available on the SUST admission website. You can find your seat plan 72 hours before the exam date. The website is: https://admission.sust.edu.bd.
SUST Admission Test 2026
The SUST admission test will be completely in MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format. You must use a black ink ballpoint pen to answer on the OMR form. Mobile phones, smartwatches, and any electronic devices (except specific calculator models) are strictly prohibited in the exam hall. The question papers will be in Bengali. However, if an examinee wants the question paper in English, they must mention it in the specific place on the application form, which will be visible during the online application process.
Entering the exam center, every student must bring two color print copies of the admit card for each unit.
Marks Distribution
The admission test marks, question count, duration, and fees vary by unit.
Unit A (Science) Exam Details:
- Applicable for: Group-1 (A1) and Group-2 (A2) departments.
- Total Marks: 80, Total Questions: 80.
- Subjects: Physics (20), Chemistry (20), Mathematics (20), and Biology/English (20) – (Choose one for the optional section).
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Fee: 1250/-.
- For Group-2 (A2) Architecture: After the main exam, there is an additional Drawing and General Knowledge exam of 30 marks for 1 hour. The fee for A2 is 1400/-.
Unit B (Science Background) Exam Details:
- Total Marks: 80, Total Questions: 80.
- Subjects: English (15), Bengali (10), Physics (15), Chemistry (15), Bangladesh & International Affairs (10), and Math/Biology (15).
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Fee: 1200/-.
Unit B (Humanities & Commerce Background) Exam Details:
- Total Marks: 80, Total Questions: 80.
- Compulsory Subjects (65 Marks): English (15), Bengali (15), Secondary Level General Math (15), Bangladesh & International Affairs (10), ICT (10).
- Optional Subjects (15 Marks):
- Humanities Branch: Economics, Civics, Sociology & Social Welfare, History related questions (15).
- Commerce Branch: Accounting and Business Policy & Management related questions (15).
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.

SUST Admission Result 2026
SUST Admission Results and other information will be published on the university notice board and website (https://admission.sust.edu.bd) in due time.
The merit list will be prepared based on a total of 100 marks: 80 marks from the admission test and the remaining based on GPA. For 2025 HSC/equivalent candidates, the sum of HSC and SSC GPA will be multiplied by 2. For 2024 HSC/equivalent candidates, the sum will be multiplied by 1.6.
Only one department will be offered to each student based on merit, subject eligibility, preference, and seat availability.

Final Admission
When you come for final admission, you need to bring some documents and money with you. You will need:
- 4 recent passport-sized color photos.
- Original mark sheets of SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams.
- Original testimonial/certificate.
- Money needed for admission.
You also need to bring two (2) photocopies of each certificate and mark sheet. After admission, your original HSC/equivalent mark sheet will be kept by the university. If you are admitted under a reserved quota, you must bring the original certificate provided by the relevant authority.
Conclusion
SUST is conducting its own admission test for the 2025-2026 session. The exams will be held in Sylhet and selected centers in Dhaka. Note that Architecture candidates must take the exam in Sylhet.
